2006 UK Championship (snooker) : ウィキペディア英語版 | 2006 UK Championship (snooker)
The 2006 Maplin UK Championship was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 4 and 17 December 2006 at the Barbican Centre in York, England. It was the 30th edition of the event and was part of the 2006/2007 season. Peter Ebdon won in the final 10–6 against Stephen Hendry, becoming the ninth man in history to win both the world championship and UK Championship in his career, and the first man to beat Hendry in the final of both tournaments. This was also the last of Hendry's record ten UK Championship finals and the last major ranking final of his career. The tournament was also notable for Ronnie O'Sullivan's forfeiture of his quarter-final match against Hendry, which Hendry was leading 4-1 at the time. O'Sullivan was eventually fined £20,000. ==Prize fund== The breakdown of prize money for this year is shown below: *Winner: £77,000 *Runner-up: £37,000 *Semi-final: £20,300 *Quarter-final: £15,800 *Last 16: £11,750 *Last 32: £8,000 *Last 48: £4,500 *Last 64: £2,200 *Stage one highest break: £500 *Stage two highest break: £5000 *Stage one maximum break: £1,000 *Stage two maximum break: £25,000 *Total: £590,400
